‘Tech needs Girls’ is a social enterprise project aimed at using technology to encourage and empower young girls to pursue various careers in ICT through hands-on training and mentorship.
Tigo Ghana CEO Roshi Motman visited the “Tech needs Girls” training centre, encourages more girls to study ICT including software, web applications and hardware engineering.
She was delighted about the enthusiasm of the young girls and pledged Tigo’s continuous support to the project. She urged the young women to be confident and challenge the status quo as they will be constrained by history, processes and systems.
According to her;
The ICT industry offers women the opportunity to bring their personal ambition and passions together and make a meaningful contribution to society by developing cutting-edge innovative solutions.
The centre is run by a Tigo Reach for Change ambassador, Regina Agyare, a social entrepreneur committed to introducing and encouraging young girls to study ICT.
