The 2014 Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology Aptitude test took place last sunday, 4th May 2014 at WAEC Hall. The test is somehow tough 🙂 but interesting (Just keep reading, i will gist you all). I decided to publish this article because i don’t want someone like you to be a victim of not knowing what to read or how to prepare for the test.
When i received the invitation mail to participate in the MestGhana aptitute test, the first thing that came to my mind is; How will i Prepare for this test, how many textbook can I read within 3days.I decided to consult online bible (Google.com 🙂 ) for shortcut or guide, but to my surprise, I search, search & search and i couldn’t find any past information/guide regarding the previous aptitude test conducted by MestGhana or maybe this is their first aptitude test, i have no idea.
Eventhough the email i received from mestghana talks about the nature of test which are Mathematics, Comprehension, Programming ability & Logical Reasoning , but which kind of mathematics text book will i have to get and read within this short period. All i just need is a quick guide or tips on the areas to focused on but i couldn’t find and as a Hustler 🙂 who is already occupied with making money online tasks, i was left with no choice than to participate in the test without reading. Hahahaha, wish my self Best of Luck!

Worry no more, in this article post i will sharing with you, A Quick Guide to Prepare for MestGhana Aptitude Test. MEST is here to stay and am sure the nature of this 2014 test will still be use for 2015 Aptitude test. But First;
Why did I choose to Participate
- Entrepreneurship: I am someone that love anything empowerment/entrepreneurial, i have grew up running personal business and also helping others to boost sales. Most of my investments are internet based and that is the reason why you will always see Netpreneur OLAMOSH in my self description or Intro.
- Course Focus: Upon checking the course structure for this 2years program, i realize that it is more of software development and that is my area of development in IT. I believe that combining core software development skill with my current internet skills will make me more productive and also earn me some cool cash 🙂 (entrepreneurial life)
Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology – or MEST – was established in Accra, Ghana, through the non-profit Meltwater Foundation, with the aim of creating jobs and wealth locally in Africa by training young Africans to become software entrepreneurs.
About the MestGhana Admission
It s a two year fully sponsored trainee program for young African graduates with a focus on practical skills in software development and entrepreneurship.
As a Trainee you will be supported in creating your own software company. MEST is looking for graduates with drive, dedication, motivation, and an independent mind to start their own software companies.
MEST Entrepreneurs-in-Training (EITs) are recruited from among the brightest and most driven university graduates in Ghana. They come from diverse academic backgrounds including: Computer Science,Engineering,Business Administration and Social Sciences.
NOTE: You can also apply if you are not a graduate, my research reveals that not all the people who participate in the aptitude test are graduates or Bsc Holder. Below is what MestGhana is really looking out for

You will pass through four types of screening, but i think your success in the aptitude test will determine your spot for the phone or group interviews.

A Quick Guide to Prepare for MestGhana Aptitude Test
No calculators, iPads, phones, bags and purses will be allowed in the examination hall. You will be provided with Pen, Pencil, eraser & worksheets. But you are to bring with you a valid photo ID (passport, voters’ ID, National ID, Drivers’ Licence or your school ID).
The aptitude test consist of four sections (Mathematics, Comprehension, Programming ability & Logical Reasoning).
This section is Mathematics with 17 questions. (Basic arithmetic, algebra and data sufficiency). You have only 40mins to deal with the questions, Below is a sample question from the last sunday aptitude test.
Eight years ago, Casey was 6times older than his son. if his son is currently 13years, in how many years will casey become twice as old as his son.

If the length of each article side of a square poster were doubled, what would be the % increase in the area of the poster?
This section is Reading Comprehension with 19 questions. (Vocabulary & ability to analyze passages of test). You have only 30mins to deal with the questions. I couldn’t master/cram any of the comprehension but i believe you should be able to answer them without even reading any english textbook. Just pay more attention towards Vocabulary when preparing for MestGhana Aptitude test.
This section is on programming Ability with 17 questions. (Basic ability concept & understanding of program logic). You have only 40mins to deal with the questions. You don’t need to start reading all type of programming language, what really matter is your programming ability; how well you understand code, algorithm and so on. You won’t be asked to write code. This section is on Logical reasoning with 15 questions. (it involves real-world scenarios which will require logical analysis of given text to answers). You have only 40mins to battle the questions.
