About Blogging Ghana
BloggingGhana (BloGh) is a group of bloggers and social media users, writing out of Ghana or the Ghanaian experience. It is Ghana’s biggest organization of bloggers and social media enthusiasts, registered in june 2011 as a non-profit organization with a executive council working towards the following objectives:
- Serving as a forum for bloggers in Ghana to network and exchange ideas
- Building capacity among bloggers in Ghana
- Accessing new audiences for our blogs through a mutual website (aggregator) and other activities
- Promoting citizen journalism in Ghana
- Educating the general public in Ghana on the opportunities of social media
BloggingGhana’s activities and achievements have been recognized by Star-Ghana, White House in Washington, Google, and many other notable institutions.
The Social Media Hub
The Social Media Hub (#BloGHome) will include a training area where students, civil society, government actors and organisations will be trained on using social media to engage and advocate for change.
The Fundraising (#morestories)
Through individual member contributions and corporate donations, BloggingGhana has acquired a office space (The social Media Hub #BloGHome) as seen in the picture above but now need funds to purchase equipment and also furnish the hub.
The launch of the online fundraising project #morestories took place on January 20th, 2014 and aims to raise $10,000 (Ten Thousand USD) through the crowd-sourcing platform, Indiegogo.
