A two member delegation from Sierra Leone’s National Telecommunications Commission (NATCOM) has concluded a study visit to the National Communications Authority (NCA) in Accra. The delegation led by the Director, Consumer, Industry and Public Affairs Joseph Cho Ansu and Ebun Rebecca Yankson – Manager, Consumer – Industrial Relations.
In a statement issued by the Corporate Affairs Manager of NCA, it noted that the focus of the team was principally on the mandate, functions and operational activities of the NCA in areas of Digital Migration, Consumer Complaint, Quality of Service and Tariff, Spectrum Management and challenges that confronted the SIM Card registration exercise.
The group was also taken round the cable landing station of Glo Ghana Limited, Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT and the Main One Cable Company Limited to enable them to have an overview of the operations, benefits and related issues pertaining to Fibre optic usage.
The visiting officials expressed their appreciation for the insight gained and noted the affable relationship between the regulator and service providers. They also thought the openness and transparency of the consumer complaint procedures that the Authority had instituted was most innovative.[showmyads]
